It is a great privilege to be the Mayor of Winsford again and to be celebrating Winsford ‘s major festival, Winsford Salt Fair. We have a busy programme of events for all the family. As you can see from the website we have children’s entertainment , the fairground, a local market, Troupe Dancing and the Mikron Theatre group.
The venue has changed, everything will centre around the Winsford Cross Shopping Centre which we hope will encourage even greater participation than we have enjoyed since the Salt Fair was re-introduced in 2012 by the then Mayor, councillor Steve Smith.
This is a great opportunity for the community to come together to enjoy a variety of fun activities. The production by the Mikron Theatre group will celebrate the anniversary of the founding of the National Health Service, with ‘Get Well Soon’. Dr Diablo’s Sideshow will take us back in time also, featuring the ‘Unusual , bizarre and unbelievable’. On Sunday we will have our ‘Open Air’ service on the fun fair. I look forward to seeing you at the Charter Reading on Wednesday, at 4.30 p.m, where you will learn about the origins of the Salt Fair.
