Performances thoughout the day
Typhoon & The Pedal Players is an interactive, walkabout performance experience for family audiences. Originally commissioned by Open Culture, this new production from Paperwork Theatre premiered at Liverpool LightNight 2017.
Typhoon is a steampunk-inspired cargo bicycle turned Time Machine, powered by a team of actor-musicians called The Pedal Players.
Travelling through Liverpool City Centre according to a pre-planned route, The Pedal Players paused on their journey re-imagining and re-telling Liverpool stories, myths and legends through original songs, physical storytelling, clowning and live performance.
Paperwork Theatre created a series bespoke scripts especially for LightNight 2017. Taking inspiration from their locality, stories included a eulogy for the popular high street store, Woolies which once stood on Church Street, the legend of the Bold Street time slips and love stories from Liverpool’s Room of a Million Romances – The Grafton Ballroom.
For LightNight 2017, audiences were invited to join The Pedal Players for a tour or catch snippets in between other events and activities.
An Audio described performance of Typhoon & The Pedal Players was resourced by Open Culture.
Their time machine is broken and The Pedal Players are stuck in a time continuum. They’ve been cycling around in circles for centuries, telling the same hidden stories, myths and legends of the town for years and years and YEEEARS! Join them on their journey across time and space.View Map
